Chocolate-Dipped Fruit Skewers

A fun and festive dessert perfect for parties or celebrations. Easy to make and loved by all. These chocolate-dipped fruit skewers are a perfect combination of freshness and indulgence.


Ingredients:



  • 2 bananas, sliced into thick rounds

  • 12 strawberries, hulled

  • 1 cup pineapple chunks

  • 1 cup grapes

  • 200g dark or milk chocolate, chopped

  • 1 tsp coconut oil (optional, for a glossy finish)

  • Wooden skewers


Optional Toppings:

  • Crushed nuts

  • Shredded coconut

  • Sprinkles


Method:

  1. Prepare the Fruit: Wash and dry all fruit thoroughly. Slice bananas and pineapple into bite-sized pieces.

  2. Assemble the Skewers: Thread the fruit onto wooden skewers in alternating patterns for variety and colour.

  3. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate in 20-30 second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth. Add coconut oil for a shinier finish.

  4. Dip the Skewers: Dip each skewer partially into the melted chocolate, covering about half of the fruit pieces. Let excess chocolate drip off.

  5. Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle your desired toppings over the chocolate-dipped fruit.

  6. Set: Place the skewers on a tray lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes or until the chocolate sets.

  7. Serve: Arrange on a platter and serve immediately, or keep chilled until ready to enjoy.



Pro Tip: Use a mix of fruits like kiwi, mango, watermelon or blueberries for added variety and colour.
